It has been announced that on February 17, 2022, Hungary’s largest e-commerce conference will take place at Lurdy House. Since 2016, the Ecommerce Expo has been regarded as the top meeting point of Hungarian online commerce—featuring leading speakers, future-shaping trends, and bringing together everyone who matters in Hungarian e-commerce.
In recent times, the pandemic has permanently transformed e-commerce. While the number of market players has doubled, advertising costs have reached unprecedented levels.
This period brought challenges never seen before, even for the best. “Last year, the event was canceled due to the pandemic, but a conference like this is much needed, since e-commerce was one of the industries that experienced the greatest growth in recent times,” said Vanda Guba, the chief organizer.
At the 2022 Ecommerce Expo, top industry consultants will share the latest insights on how to run a successful online store in this transformed market. In 2020, Hungarian e-commerce turnover reached HUF 909 billion—a 45% increase. According to the organizer, an even more striking figure is the more than 56% growth in the number of webshops, which has already been expanding dynamically year after year.
“Plus three years—that’s how much the e-commerce sector advanced in just 12 months. The reason is that many offline stores were forced to appear online due to the pandemic. The event and its various presentations are not only for those who already have an online store, but also for those who are considering starting one. Even if someone doesn’t yet have a product, it can be useful—not only in answering what kind of product to launch with, but also in showing how to sell an existing product,” explained Guba Vanda on the event’s importance.
The February conference will feature more than 80 exhibitors and nearly 50 presentations, promising inspiring encounters that could easily help a company take off. “The great thing about Ecommerce Expo is that people meet others in the same situation. Plus, it’s a unique chance to connect in one day with those you may do business with all year long,” added the chief organizer.
